I caught myself wondering what businesses would best represent certain NFL Teams. I couldn't come up with businesses for all 32 teams. So here's 5:
5. Pittsburgh Steelers: Heinz - Both organizations are consistently good, and it's fitting since the Steelers play on Heinz Field. The Steelers make the playoffs just about every year, and when's the last time somebody dissed Heinz Ketchup or Mustard? And both organizations must be pretty cool if they are featured in the football scene of The Dark Knight Rises.
4. New Orleans Saints: Enron - Both organizations imploded due to illegal procedures. Enron was exposed for it's accounting fraud and the Saints' for their bounty system employed by both coaches and players. Enron declared bankruptcy while the Saints lost their head coach for the year and lost their season opener to a rookie quarterback after winning the Super Bowl just 2 years ago. Ouch.
3. Washington Redskins: United States Postal Service. Neither organization has been relevant for quite some time. Washington owner Dan Snyder failed to get any impact players for the past ten years and the USPS....well, they haven't done anything for years. The one thing they are both good at is alienating customers. Maybe the new additions of Flat Rate Shipping and Robert Griffin III will help change their respective courses. Not counting on it.
2. Denver Broncos: Yahoo. Yahoo was one of the greatest sites when the internet first came out, but in recent years Google has largely surpassed it. Likewise the Broncos won two Super Bowls in the 90's and haven't really done much since. Both organizations have brought in top talent from successful competitors in hopes to bring back the glory days. Yahoo hired Marissa Mayer, former Google executive, to be the CEO and the Broncos signed free agent quarterback Peyton Manning. Is Peyton serious about winning? This picture tells it all.
1. New England Patriots: Apple. Consistently lead your industry year in and year out? Check. Have a mastermind at the helm directing the organization? Check. Have a sleek, attractive, metallic logo? Check. Is said mastermind an awesome dresser? Double check.
What company best represents your favorite team?
